## What uses credits

- Agent work, priced by effort, plus publishing and database operations. ([source](https://replit.com/pricing))
- Data transfer out, compute units, and production Postgres compute and storage. Development databases are free. ([source](https://docs.replit.com/billing/about-usage-based-billing))
- Third-party APIs your app calls through Replit are billed from credits at the provider's rates. ([source](https://docs.replit.com/billing/ai-billing))
- Free Mode in Agent costs nothing. ([source](https://docs.replit.com/billing/ai-billing))

## Where to see your usage

- The Usage page shows spend in near real time. Some usage data can lag by up to 30 minutes. ([source](https://docs.replit.com/billing/managing-spend))
- Hover a checkpoint in the Agent tab to see what it cost. ([source](https://replit.com/pricing))

## How to cap spend

- Set usage alerts, and set a budget. A budget is a hard monthly cap: when you hit it you get an email and usage-based services pause. ([source](https://replit.com/pricing))
- To spend only prepaid pack credits, set your limit to $0.01. ([source](https://docs.replit.com/billing/managing-spend))
- Credit packs come in 4 sizes, can auto-reload, and expire 6 months after purchase. ([source](https://docs.replit.com/billing/managing-spend))
- Replit asks you to confirm before a paid action. ([source](https://docs.replit.com/billing/ai-billing))

## What the plan price does not cover

- Usage past your monthly credits, billed monthly or when costs pass your credits. ([source](https://docs.replit.com/billing/about-usage-based-billing))
- Prices are subject to tax. ([source](https://replit.com/pricing))
- Monthly credits reset on your renewal date. Pro credits roll over for two months. ([source](https://docs.replit.com/billing/ai-billing))
