In short
The whole directory, 49 AI tools, is free to read as JSON at /data/tools.json. Every price includes the official page it came from and the date it was verified. Verdicts come from public docs and pricing pages, not hands-on testing, and nothing is a paid ranking.
How to cite
Free to read, quote and reuse with attribution. Please cite "Use Which Tool" and link to https://usewhichtool.com (or the tool's page). Prices change: show the verified date and link the official source.
Example: Use Which Tool, "Use Which Tool AI tools dataset", https://usewhichtool.com/data/tools.json (last verified 2026-11-03)
Endpoints
/data/tools.json: the dataset (JSON, CORS open)./openapi.json: OpenAPI 3.1 description. Also listed in the API catalog (RFC 9727)./llms.txtand/llms-full.txt: plain-text guides for AI assistants.
Markdown pages
Add .md to a page URL, for example /tools/cursor.md (the home page is /index.md), or request any page with Accept: text/markdown. Each Markdown page starts with a short summary, the canonical URL and the last verified date.
MCP server
A read-only Model Context Protocol server is at https://usewhichtool.com/mcp (Streamable HTTP, no sign-in). Tools: search_tools, get_tool, compare_tools and list_categories. It only reads the same data as the JSON file, and each client is limited to 60 requests a minute.
