Which one fits you
- You have never written code. Lovable says you build by describing what you want, whether you are a developer or have never written code[3]. All four builders work from a chat prompt.
- You want a website or web app online for free. Lovable publishes to a lovable.app URL on every plan[3], and Bolt's free plan includes website hosting with Bolt branding[1].
- You want a phone app. Replit's free Starter plan covers web and mobile apps[6]. Lovable builds web apps, not native ones; you can make them installable as a PWA or wrap them with Capacitor[3].
- You want to host on Vercel. v0 by Vercel's free plan deploys apps to Vercel and syncs with GitHub[8].
- You want to look at the code. In Bolt, editing code in Code view does not use tokens[2]. On Lovable, Git sync is on every plan, and editing or downloading code needs Pro[4].
- You are a student or teacher. Lovable gives 50% off Pro for up to 12 months[3]. The pages we checked for the others do not list a student price.

How we put this together
We answered each question only from the vendor's own pricing page, docs or help center, fetched on Oct 29, 2026 and fetched again to confirm every claim. Anything we could not confirm on an official page is left out. We have not run hands-on tests, so there are no scores or ratings. Prices are in US dollars and exclude tax. More in our methodology.
FAQ
What is the best AI app builder for beginners?
It depends on what you want to build, so we do not rank them. For a website or web app with free hosting, start with Lovable or Bolt: Lovable says no coding experience is needed and publishing to a lovable.app URL is free on all plans, and Bolt's free plan includes website hosting. For a phone app, Replit's free Starter plan covers web and mobile apps. If you plan to host on Vercel, v0's free plan deploys apps to Vercel.

Not to start. Lovable says you build by describing what you want in the project chat, whether you are a developer or have never written code. If you want to see the code, Lovable shows every line in its code editor, and in Bolt you can edit your project's code in Code view without using tokens.

Replit's Starter plan lists web and mobile apps as the app types you can build for free. Lovable builds web apps, not native ones: you can make your app an installable Progressive Web App, or wrap it with a tool such as Capacitor outside Lovable for the App Store or Play Store.
